About the Caribbean Regional Track of the PPCR

The Caribbean Regional Track of the Pilot Programme for Climate Resilience (PPCR) in the Caribbean is one of two regional tracks of the global PPCR.

The Caribbean Regional Track is working to:

  1. Improve regional processes to acquire, store, analyse, access and disseminate climate relevant data, and
  2. Pilot and scale up innovative climate resilient initiatives in the region.

The Regional Track is coordinated by the Mona Office for Research and Innovation at the Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies, Jamaica MORI. The Programme Management Unit is located at UWI, Mona. Inter-American Development Bank IDB, as an accredited implementing entity of the CIF, is supervising the implementation of theUS$10.39 million PPCR grant between 2015 and 2020.

The Caribbean Regional Track is working with five regional organizations to implement the programme’s  components and sub-components.

The Regional Track is guided by a Project Steering Committee (PSC), with membership drawn from national PPCR focal points in Dominica, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines and from the Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre, the Climate Studies Group at UWI, Mona, the PPCR Regional Track Project Management Unit and UWI MORI.
