On Wednesday, October 23, 2019, the Investment Plan for the Caribbean Regional Track of the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience formally handed over refurbished Seed Bank facilities to Jamaica’s Ministry of Investment, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries (MICAF).

The refurbishing, which represented an investment of some 26.2 million Jamaican Dollars (approx $200,000 JMD) included the upgrading of the Seed Storage Facilities, construction of a cold room and the purchase of a seed batch-dryer.

The event saw the attendance of Jamaica’s Minister of Investment, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, Audley Shaw. Other notable persons in attendance were the Inter-American Development Bank Country Representative, Therese Turner-Jones, the country representative of the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI), Dr. Gregory Robin and Dr. Lisa Myers-Morgan, Principal Research Director, MICAF.
